The recommended deadline to submit a Major/Minor Change Request Form for Spring 2025 is January 7, 2025 at 11:59 PM. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to process applications submitted after this date. This application will close at the end of the drop/add period. Students planning to graduate before Spring 2025 are not able to use this application. Please contact your academic advisor or the department offering the program for assistance.

A confirmation page will display after you submit your request. If you do not see this confirmation page then your application was not successfully submitted and you must fill out the form and submit again.

Changing your major may impact your financial aid and scholarship eligibility, especially if you are an Excelsior recipient. It is recommended that you discuss how this change in major can affect your aid with your advisor, as well as the Financial Aid Office: https://financialaid.buffalo.edu/.

Major/minor change decisions are sent electronically to your UB email address. Please check your email regularly to learn of updates regarding the status of your application. Once your major has been officially changed, you will receive an additional email containing directions on how to make an advising appointment with your newly assigned advisor.
